Our main field of research is organic photovoltaic (PV) cells which are polymer-based devices that produce electricity from sunlight. In addition to organic solar cells,
we are also interested in developing hybrid solar cells which combine the advantages of organic materials and inorganic semiconductors. Such devices consist of conjugated polymers that absorb light as the donor and inorganic materials are used as the acceptor, for example.
Beyond solar cells, we are interested in polymer light emitting diodes, organic compounds that emit light in response to an electric current, thin film field-effect transistors, and photodetectors.
